Maya Chen · Freelance product designer · Remote
I design software people get right the first try.
I help startups and product teams turn complex flows, like onboarding, scheduling and checkout, into interfaces that feel obvious.

About me
I’m Maya, an independent product designer. I work with early-stage startups and in-house product teams who need a senior designer to untangle a difficult flow and see it through to launch.
Most of my work is in B2B software, healthcare and e-commerce, where the details are messy and the cost of confusion is real.
How I work
- Start where people get stuck: support tickets, session notes, real workflows.
- Sketch early and test rough. Polish the version that survives.
- Work in the open with engineers, so the design ships as designed.
What you can hire me for
- Product and UX design
- End-to-end flows, from research to shipped UI.
- Design systems
- Tokens, components and docs teams adopt.
- Research and testing
- Interviews, usability sessions and synthesis.
- Prototyping
- Clickable prototypes to test ideas before code.
